Tom Lee Reflects on the Prospects of Bitcoin
If the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) gives the green light for a bitcoin ETF, it could push the price of bitcoin to the level of $150,000 and possibly even $180,000. That's what Tom Lee, one of the founders of the Fundstrat analytics company, thinks.
Exchange-traded funds based on bitcoin have shown their effectiveness on the world stage, but their success in the United States can be an important signal for the local cryptocurrency industry, the expert says.
However, even if the bitcoin ETF is not approved, this first cryptocurrency still has a chance for growth, which can be strengthened by the upcoming reduction of the reward to miners (halving) in April 2024, Tom Lee emphasizes.
