South Korea has Launched Interagency Investigation Team
South Korea has launched an investigation unit to combat cryptocurrency crime. The decision was made against the backdrop of a surge in illegal activities and lack of legal protection for investors. This is reported by Reuters.
"Virtual assets are investment products that already compare to stocks, but market participants are practically left out from legal protection amid incomplete laws and systems," the statement reads.
The number of employees in this unit will be about 30. It will employ experts in judicial, financial, tax and customs authorities. The investigation team will protect the interests of investors until the cryptocurrency market will not be regulated by law.
