Solo Miner's Remarkable $161,000 Success
On August 19th, a solo miner using the Solo CK pool successfully mined block #803,821 of the primary cryptocurrency network, earning a reward of 6.31 BTC, worth about $161,000 at the time, after accounting for fees.
The miner, who employed devices with a combined hash rate of approximately 1 PH, has already distributed the funds to other wallets according to on-chain data.
Despite the miner's relatively small hash rate, compared to larger miners in the EH range, this success is notable given that a miner of this size usually solves a block every seven years at a difficulty of 52.39 T, as noted by Kon Kolivas, the curator of Solo CK. It's speculated that the miner used around 10 Antminer S17 devices.
