SEC to Appeal Partial Defeat in Case Against Ripple
The SEC will appeal the partial defeat in the case against Ripple. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission referred the information to the court of the Southern District of New York.
The SEC will seek interlocutory review of the case. "These two issues involve controlling questions of law on which there is substantial ground for differences of opinion, as reflected by an intra-district split that has already developed.", it said in a letter to Judge Analisa Torres.
The regulator cited a recent case against Terraform Labs and its CEO Do Kwon, where a judge rejected Torres' approach. The SEC and Ripple have been suing since 2020.
