Twitter owner Elon Musk has set limits on the number of tweets users can view. New users can view 500 posts a day, older users 1,000, Twitter Blue holders 10,000. Musk described this as a temporary measure due to the high level of data analysis and manipulation of the system. He didn’t give an exact timeframe for the removal of the restrictions.
However, Twitter's documentation still states that tweets are public and any user can interact with posts. Recently, ordinary users have been experiencing issues such as the feed and comments feature not working. The hashtag #TwitterDown has been spread, it highlights issues with the service.
It is speculated that Musk's decision could be aimed at combating AI language models that exploit publicly available data on social networks like Twitter. A possible reason could also be the strained relationship between Twitter and Google, which led to the termination of payments for Google's cloud service.
