Binance has integrated the Lightning Network
The Binance cryptocurrency exchange team has successfully added support for the Lightning Network (LN) bitcoin micropayment network for deposits and withdrawals. Users can now select LN as an option when depositing funds into their account.
Apart from LN, other options are available for depositing or withdrawing cryptocurrency such as BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20), BNB Beacon Chain (BEP2), SEGWITBTC (SegWit) and Ethereum (ERC-20). Not only Binance, but other popular crypto exchanges such as Bitfinex, Kraken, River Financial, OKX and CoinCorner have already implemented a micropayment network.
Plans to add the feature first emerged in May after an internal glitch due to bitcoin network overload. To that end, the exchange team began working on providing BTC withdrawals via the Lightning Network.
