The court sentenced the ex-official and former party secretary Xiao Yi was sentenced to life imprisonment. Because of the corruption and support of cryptocurrency mining operations.
According to the case file, in the period from 2008 to 2021, the accused used his official position for selfish purposes and earned more than 125 million yuan (~$17.1 million) on bribes.
